This book is hands down the best beginnger programming book. While C++'s learning curve is steeper than, say, Python, it forces the author to explain deeper programming theory. Many C++ books do this, and most fail. This book is overwhelmingly the best book I've encountered to explain OOP concepts and usage to a beginner.
